Worth the Hype? – The Housemaid Review

A fast-paced psychological thriller, The Housemaid lures you in with its deceptively simple premise and captivates you with its crazy storyline. Painfully Brilliant – A Yellowface Review.

Yellowface is one of those books that makes you cringe, laugh, and spiral, often all in the same chapter. What I thought would be a straightforward narrative quickly unraveled into sharp satire, complete with an unhinged and wildly unreliable narrator. Kuang doesn’t just tell a story, she holds up a mirror to the publishing industry, to whiteness, to us. It’s messy, uncomfortable, and deeply self-aware in the best way possible.
